Parents Taxi....

Have you ever wondered how much running around you do as a parent???
Monday night...youngest son off to beavers
Tuesday night... TaeKwonDo
Wednesday..daughter off to Air Cadets
Thursday...Taekwondo or squash
Friday...daughter off to aircadets....

Now she comes home with a gliding scholarship that now adds a two hour return trip twice a Saturday for the next 6-8 weeks.......
Throw in the other activities and parties and other social functions kids attend these days and it is almost a full time job. Hmm at what age can we start charging. Sadly though it is a rapid change in the times....some years ago we would have been happy to let the kids cycle or walk to where they needed to go. Now, even in the UK, the drunken yobs, the street bullies , not to mention the paedophiles make it unwise to let them. So hey ho hey ho, a driving I will go.....

We were hoping that from next year the eldest could do some of the driving, however as she would only have just got her license, the insurance will be more than the value of the car.....bit stupid really, she can take tens of thousands of pounds worth of aircraft into the skies, but cannot be trusted (by the insurance companies) to drive on the road without exhorbitant insurance.........bit daft really.
